MUG and SPE Pittsburgh Donate to Veterans Leadership Program

MUG Board Members Zane Johnson, Chris LaBarte, and Walt Elmquist visited the Veterans Leadership Program in Pittsburgh, PA.

Canonsburg, PA - November 19, 2021 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers Pittsburgh Section, recently made a $5,000 donation to the Veterans Leadership Program of Western PA. This donation was made possible from the proceeds of the cornhole tournament MUG, SPE, and the AADE Appalachian Basin Chapter held in October. The event, which was held at Helltown Taproom in Houston, PA, featured 50 teams and numerous sponsor companies.

7th Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble Sets Record

Canonsburg, PA - November 17, 2021 - Earlier this year, the Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) hosted the 7th Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble presented by Precision Pipe Rentals. This event is held the 2nd Thursday of July at Oglebay Resort which features a mixer the night before. This year’s event saw a record number of participants which sold out both the Jones and Palmer golf courses for the first time in the history of the event. MUG selected two West Virginia-based organizations to be the beneficiaries from the event this year: Chestnut Mountain Ranch and On Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Horsemanship who each received $10,000 donations. The entire MUG Board of Directors would like to thank all who have been part of the organization over the years and attended this event. In just 7 years, this event has grown from under 10 foursomes to 50+ foursomes.

About On Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Horsemanship
On Eagles’ Wings accepted its first participants in September 2007 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. What started from humble beginnings as a backyard program consisting of two horses and five participants, On Eagles’ Wings expanded to a new facility in 2016 to provide five distinct programs that serve the North Central West Virginia area.
Our participants include children and adults with physical, cognitive, emotional, and social disabilities and challenges. Disabilities Served: ADD or other Hyperactivity Disorder, Amputee, At Risk Youth, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay or Disability, Down Syndrome, Genetic Conditions/Disorders, Head Trauma/Brain Injury, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disability, Learning Disability, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Orthopedic, Paralysis, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Speech Impairment, Spina Bifida, Spinal Cord Injury, & Stroke.

MUG Donates to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus

Canonsburg, PA - July 18, 2021 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently hosted a joint happy hour with the Ohio and Pittsburgh Chapters of the Women’s Energy Network. The event took place during the Ohio Oil & Gas Association’s Annual Meeting in Columbus, OH at World of Beers. This is the first time MUG has cohosted their happy hour in Columbus, but for the third year in a row, all proceeds generated from the event were donated to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The event was well attended and a total of $2,876.12 was donated to the hospital.

In addition to WEN of Ohio and Pittsburgh, the event was sponsored by multiple companies that are located within the Marcellus & Utica gas regions.
